On the 16th of January, I had ordered a My Little Pony book from this online store, simply because they offered free shipping and because it was the store that offered the lowest price on this book. On the website, they had said that the book would be dispatched within 48 working hours and that they would send me a confirmation email.
It did not take them 48 hours to dispatch this, it was more like 4 days. I emailed them on the 21st of January later enquire where my order was. On the day they had replied, the book had been dispatched (this was on the 22nd of January). They have quick service when they are dealing with complaints.
On the 1st of February, the book was delivered to me. The book was delivered in sturdy packaging material and I was quite satisfied. The shipping time was decent for the fact that it was free shipping.
I ordered a book "The Shore of Pearls" from Book Depository on the 2nd of January. The book arrived a short 10 day wait later, it was packaged nicely in a cardboard envelope with only a very small crease in the top right hand corner. Book Depository offers free worldwide shipping which swayed me to purchase from them as the prices are comparable with other online retailers (and definitely better than a brick and mortar store) without exorbitant shipping fees. Although it must be checked when buying the book that you are buying the exact version you want as book depository does have a very large range including several different versions of the same book and even some books in different languages. I did not have too much trouble with it however.
Was searching online for a particular book, and The Book Depository seemed to offer the cheapest price I could find.
Delivery was under about a week, which is expected now with this site.
Just watch out if you're paying via credit card, this is considered an overseas transaction as they're based in the UK. I got hit with a small overseas transaction fee.
Probably my 5th book bought from The Book Depository, their service and delivery is very consistent. Packaging as usual is solid, and took under a week to arrive.
Although they're delivery is free, I just realised I'm getting charged by my credit card company for an overseas transaction, so just watch out for an additional dollar or two spent on this, depending on your card provider. These guys are based in the UK after all.
I made a large purchase from the book depository of over 20 books. I got carried away with continual looking and due to the price I kept buying books. I could not find a better price or range on the net but the actual store can sometimes be hard to navigate. I purchased a large order but for some reason they came in individual parcels spread over about two weeks from the initial purchase. I found this odd and they did not provide any update of when I may receive other parcels. Overall the experience was good and I feel like I could trust the store.
Ordered the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Companion for myself and my partner. Price was far cheaper than any shop in Australia (about a third of the price.)
As usual, freight from the other side of the world was quick, ordered on boxing day and arriving the first week of the new year!
So I had specifically purchased 'Sarah's Key', a novel, as a gift for a friend. I was really impressed, fast delivery ( 8 working days) and the book was in great condition. It was also more convenient, because Im finding it harder to find real life book stores nowadays. It was also much cheaper than buying it from a real life store. Definitely worth checking it out!
