I ordered the 2 books and got them within 2 weeks. The books came in separate packaging but that was okay because they were both packed securely. The pricing was cheaper than any bookstore around my area and free shipping was also available.
Does anyone else miss the good old fashioned book shop? Granted, buying books online does have a few advantages. I first stumbled upon UK-based Book Depository by chance, when searching for a specific non-fiction book. The book prices can be displayed in AUD, and I find them very competitive, often better-priced, and easier to search and compare, than purchasing books from the handful of remaining brick-and-mortar shops locally.
Book Depository offers free shipping worldwide, but just be aware that when you order multiple books from them, they may be delivered to you separately, rather than packed together -- so if you order the bigger books, you'll want to make sure to provide an address where someone can take the deliveries (like your work, if you work in an office) to save you multiple Post Office pick-up trips.
On their website they say that delivery to Australia takes about 7-10 working days, and so far that's been about right. I always purchase multiple books in one order from Book Depository, and indeed the deliveries are spread out: sometimes I'll receive parcels a few days apart, sometimes packages arrive on consecutive days.
Go-to place for books. - Very competitive prices. - Books always arrive in great condition - Free shipping! The shipping takes a bit long though.
Recently ordered two book as a birthday gift and it took more than 10 days to arrived, just made it on time for the birthday. Super cheap prices for two very nice books made the wait worthwhile. Will come back again.
Ordered the following Nicholas Sparks titles: A walk to remember : $12.79 The Lucky One: $7.30 Message in a bottle: $7.30 Safe Haven: $13.71
Speedy delivery and signifcantly cheaper than physical stores. I noticed that they sent items individually rather than together, so I did recieve items on different days. I assume this is to prevent delays in delivery, though it isn't the most environmentally friendly process. Love their service. Have bought from them many times.
We ordered two copies of Mark Forsyth's Gemel Edition( for Christmas presents) on May 25. The price of the books was the lowest we could find and shipping from UK was free! The books arrived on June 6. A great overall transaction.
The textbook i purchased from book depository was cheap and came in secure packaging. The shipping was also very quick and arrived in 5 days! Book depository also confirms when items have been dispatched and FAQ questions are conveniently answered at the end of every email.
Bought: The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins for $11.54
Not significantly cheaper than in stores as Kmart we're advertising the book for $12. I also noticed that the pages were more yellow when they were sourced from the book depository. It is not only this book, but other orders I have made that tend to have a less "bleached" look to the pages. Delivery was fast and efficient. There is also no need for signature, which is a bonus in my eyes as a full time student.
