Dell Australia offers Laptops, Ultrabooks™, Tablets PCs, Desktops, Monitors, Servers, Storage, Printers and Computer Accessories for all of your home or small office needs.
Have previously bought a 24" screen from Dell, and thought I needed another one as it is easier to compare items. The normal price of the Monitor Dell, and all their products, are quite high, but I guess there a level of quality and service included into the costs. However, Dell always have sales on their products and can range for 10 to 40% off. In my case it was about 30% off.
After ordering the product, I received an email which said it would take approximately 2-3 weeks for delivery of the monitor. I thought that this was a bit long considering its all packed up and should just really be shipped to me.
To my surprise i received it in 3 working days. I think the 2-3 weeks disclaimer is for if the product is not in stock.
After opening the monitor and plugging it in, found that the button on the screen were broken and didn't work. This was a bit annoying as I wanted to use it that night. I rang dell up for a replacement monitor. This was a Wednesday. They said they would call me shortly. Dell's definition of shortly is actually the next day. Think they should have just said that.
Replacement was actually 2 business days which spanned across the weekend. Their NEXT DAY replacement/repair is actually 2 days. I think they should have said that rather then next business day. In fact they couldn't even call me the same day and took them 1 business day to get back to me. Close to 5pm that day.
Replacement did arrive on the Monday. The replacement process requires you to re-package your product and attach a slip. Then call another courier to come and take the product. For some reason they couldn't do it all at once, which i thought was annoying as i needed to organise another person to provide that to them.
However, having said all the above, I think that they were quick to provide a replacement and it was hassle free. Thanks Dell!
I purchased this refurbished monitor from the factory outlet area of the website for $189 delivered which is a great price for the monitor.
The monitor arrived at my house, when I got home 5 mins later I saw the note in my mailbox. Because of this I would have to wait another day even if I wanted to collect it, which I couldn't as the depot was miles away!
The shipping company was just a straight up pain, especially because of the requests Dell gave them, such as no change of address or unattended delivery.
I got the monitor the next day and opened it up only to find it split in-half. I immediately called them and reached their (terribly hard to understand) call centre, they wanted to give me a refund. I refused, stating my rights to get a replacement.
Anyway, several unreturned phone calls later I get an email address after having to call them back around 3 times. This person on the other end of the email was insisting that I would not be receiving a replacement of any kind because I stated my ACL (Australian consumer law) rights. We ended up settling on a replacement refurbished model. This took 1 week from the time I got the faulty monitor!
I recieved it today and am yet to send the other one back to them. Even better, I actually recieved a brand new one! So I'm very happy, the monitor is awesome!!
Customer service is terrible and unreliable.
Shipping is fast but annoying.
Pricing is great on the outlet site but still a lot more expensive than other brands :P
Only 1 year warranty on outlet items (new or refurbished) and I wouldn't really want to have to deal with them!
