In this order, I ordered the Chateau Party Dress, which is stunning in the pictures. In person, it did not disappoint!
Unfortunately though, the cut was a bit weird. Because of my rather large bosom, I ordered the dress in Large, and it fit everywhere nicely, with just the right amount of room. But around the sides of the top, which is a high halter neck, it gaped. If it was too big, it should be too big everywhere, especially given that it gaped at the part of my body which is the... largest.
As a result, I had to return it, and I didn't feel confident that the medium would fit better. It is a pity that BM doesn't have free or cheap returns, because after paying $10 to return the dress, I was left feeling pretty disappointed.
I love black milk clothing and to be honest, I will try their stuff a couple more times before I give up buying them. But so far, their sizing has been wildly different on each item and I haven't kept anything I've bought, I've had to pay to return it all. The only person this makes happy is the postie, who is getting all my money for returns.
I ordered the Burned Diamond crop top, and to be honest I was a little underwhelmed. The neckline was a bit lumpy, caused by the texture of the burned velvet. The top was also not as see through in daylight as it looked under the studio lights so it looked more like a velvet jumper than the slinky crop I was after.
It wasn't terrible, but just not amazing, for the price. The great thing was, Black Milk returns policies are so great that I simply sent the top back post haste.
If you've read my reviews lately, you'll notice a trend - somehow, I've been returning more than I've been keeping. Maybe it's just a run of bad luck, maybe there's a bit of a trend with online stores selling stuff they know wouldn't pass muster IRL?
My experience with Black Milk didn't have that feel though: with BM, if you don't like it, you can just return the thing to the mailing address and get your money back! Or, you can get 110% store credit! Now that is what I call customer service.
Having seen peacock leggings on a random member of the public, I searched for the way to find the same. Blackmilk was easily found, navigated and more items there that could fit my GF were there than I thought. She is sized difficultly, being large chested and narrow waisted. Most things don't fit her because of her chest. The fabric was at the limit when she was wearing it, but fitted very fine elsewhere. Not too loose at the waist or hip. The delivery was very good, and the satisfaction on the gift was very high. The items are pricy, but I feel that the quality of manufacture was well worth it. Recommended
I bought a pair of World Maps Leggings as my first official Black Milk purchase when they were having the Black Friday sale. Apparently in all their excitement they had oversold this particular pair of leggings. I had to wait a week longer than most other people but their customer service is AMAZING! When I got my package I found a pair of a hosiery as well as my original purchase. So lovely!
As soon as I got these I fell in love, maps on my legs? Freaking awesome! The material is so soft and when you first pull them out of the bag they look short but the material is EXTRA stretchy yet not daggy like those cotton leggings. Great find, and now they have become a museum item! Love that BM do this, makes you feel really special to have certain items. Will definitely continue to shop here :)
I have been buying blackmilk for the last two years. The shipping is generally fast. It does take slightly longer now there are more people following the brand but the leggings are amazing, good quality and made in Australia. They also have lovely girls working in customer service that always get back to you quickly.
I bought a pair of 'I Eat Mice' high-waisted leggings during Black Milk's museum sale and I'm certain the price had gone down from what they originally were. This limited piece is gorgeous and definitely my favourite pair of Black Milk that I own. Their new softer waistbands are amazing, it isn't 'loose' per se but they are definitely less constricting than the previous ones they used. Overall a great product and worth the price!
I bought two items, Wet Look Black leggings and the Matte Black Reversible Skater Dress. The quality of these items are outstanding. The Wet Look leggings feel a lot different to the other leggings I've bought from Black Milk but not in a bad way. I think it's just the material and how it's made to be extra shiny. I love how comfy these leggings are, the waistband doesn't murder you like most other leggings and they don't go saggy EVER.
The skater dress was made of a matte material that was extra soft. The style didn't suit me so I had to return it so I sent them an email and they replied to me within the day. Great customer service overall and great quality products. Will continue to buy from this store!
