Rivers has amazing online prices for mens business wear. The layout is simple but effective and the order process is short. I received my order 3 days after placing and was very happy as the items were better than they looked online.
Rivers is always reliable for cheap but reasonable quality work clothing. I purchased a pair of dress shoes , order was received in 6 days in perfect condition. The website is clunky and hard to navigate but the lack of "frills" is more than made up for by price.
I ordered 3 pairs of jeans, and 4 tops from this site. For a total of $60 + $8.80 postage. Postage is a flat rate, but if you spend over $100 then it's free. If I could offer any feedback it would be that it would be good if they offered free shipping if you spent over $50 (like most other sites) rather than $100. Their products are very cheap, so it's hard to ever need to buy that much stuff in one order. I ordered just before the new year, so it took 6 days for my item to arrive. But 4 of those days there wasn't any mail (weekend + public holidays), so it really only took 2 business days for the stuff to arrive which was pretty good. Items were packed well and all separately sealed in plastic inside the parcel. I was very pleased with the service and would use it again.
Rivers kind of feels like a store from 10 years ago. Everything *works*, but it could be much, much better.
The online store itself is tough to navigate and search. There aren't many options for filtering clothes. Most clothes seem to have discounts applied, but only some appear in the "Sale" section? Confusing. Manageable, but not great.
That being said, the products themselves are fantastic. Sizing is fairly consistent, there's a decent range, and I usually find something AWESOME hidden in the basics.
Shipping is alright – usually about a week, and I'm in the Sydney CBD. They also never provide tracking details until I ask for it, which is kind of annoying.
Last time my package was delivered to the wrong floor of my building. The fault was with the courier, but Rivers weren't super helpful when I was trying to locate my order. They just gave me the number of the courier and basically told me to do it myself. As far as I'm concerned, shipping isn't complete until the parcel is in my hands – up until that point, any issues should be dealt with by Rivers.
I've had to return some stuff, it was fairly easy. They actually mailed me a prepaid post bag (rather than just a return post label, or reply paid address?) which was a little annoying as I had to wait a week for it to arrive, but again, not a big deal.
