Slow order processing and poor communications, saved by responsive customer service
ordered some moisturising ointment to test out and received free shipping as part of a promotion that Amcal was running (otherwise, delivery is free for orders over $60), click and collect or home delivery was available
a week later, my order was marked as confirmed. waiting 2 weeks later, i still had not received any communication regarding my order, so i emailed their customer service.
i was told, due to large demand, they had sold out and their supplier had no stock - stock was expected towards the end of the month. i was given the choice of a refund or to wait. i chose to wait.
as advised, the 1st of the new month came around, and my order was then marked as shipped with a tracking number to be delivered 2 days after. overall, nearly a month delivery time, but also not entirely their fault.
not exactly the greatest experience as i felt a lack of stock or delay in orders (for whatever reason) should have been communicated out to customers, without requiring a chase up. at least, and i was given the opportunity for a refund, so can't fault Amcal for this.
Based on this, i would consider buying from Amcal again, although their order processing seems a little slow and their communications needs to improve, but as least their customer service is quick and responsive
I ordered some personal stuff from Amcal. I am a real bargain hunter online, and I price compared between four Australian online chemist/toiletry stores. Amcal came up the winner!
One of their competitors boldly states that they 'won't be beaten on price'. But one of the items I purchased at Amcal was a whole $5 cheaper than this competitor's price!! (Amcal's price: $8. Competitor's: $13).
Their shipping is cheaper too - only $7.50 where most places charge $9-10.
So if you are after chemist products, Amcal is quick and cheap!
