I ordered two textbooks from booktopia. Both book were discounted because there was a sale on. Postage is not too bad but other book stores do offer free postage. Package arrived within a couple of days so it was pretty good.
Boy is it difficult to find a store online that stocks the books I required for my Cert3 Children's Services! It costs sooo much at the physical shops, even a second-hand book on gumtree was marginally cheaper than buying it new. So I decided to give Booktopia a try. It stocks all books Australian. The price the books I required was the cheapest I could find (price + shipping). I compared it with Mighty Ape whose price was very close. Within 2 days of placing my order I received shipping notification and received my order the following week. Well wrapped should it come across wet-weather too.
On the 29/04/2013 i ordered a copy of 'The Call of the Wild' and on the 01/05/2013 i received notification that my order had been shipped.Today (07/05/2013) my order arrived as described.
i bought a book from booktopia whilst they had there free shipping offer and it took a while to process the payment, but when it processed i recieved an email saying that the payment went through and that they shipped my order today, then the next day i recieved my book in the mail, very fast shipping and excellent service, would recommend Booktopia to everyone.
On the 29/05/2013 i ordered a copy of 'The Australian Wine Annual 2010' from Booktopia,on 03/06/2013 i received notification that my order had been shipped and on the 07/06/2013 my order arrived as described.
I ordered during a free shipping promotion so i just had to pay for the book itself.
Happy with the range of titles. Items were shipped promptly considering it was over the Christmas/New Year Period. Pricing was very competitive in comparison to other online book stores. Would recommend!

Horrific service, pretty much stole my money
I ordered two "Color Me Calm" colouring books (which are amazing) for my friend and I. Two weeks later I still hadn't received them and had received no e-mail explaining why it was delayed.
I proceeded to log into my account, where my order said "In Progress" and they were expecting another shipment of books to arrive a few days prior to when I actually went online. So they were fully in stock, I hadn't been told they were out of stock, so I was a bit annoyed, and sent them a message asking how long my order would take and that I may need to cancel.
A couple of days went by without a response. I went back online to send a message to cancel my order when I saw my order had been dispatched earlier that day.. Yet I hadn't received an e-mail and they'd not replied to my message. So I sent a second message explaining that I'd come online to cancel my order, I wasn't happy with the lack of communication, and I'd like to return the books when they eventually arrived. It's been 2 weeks now, and I've still had no response (other than to my FIRST message saying "looks like they've been dispatched").
This service is utterly disgraceful. They actually IGNORED my message and FORCED me to pay for something I wanted to return. There wasn't even a tax invoice with my order so I couldn't possibly return it without them responding to my message.
I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN. They're devious, unprofessional, and outright rude.
