Recently I ordered Eco Timber Look Venetians for a rental property. I needed them in a hurry. Yes blinds really delivered - I had them within 4 days in Sydney. Every part of the order was 100% correct. I think this is an affordable and good quality service.
My overall buying experience with the company was outstanding. They answered all my emails quickly & thoroughly. The delivery was much faster than I expected. It states 5-7 business days but I received them in 2 days. (I'm in Sydney)
The quality of the blinds were way better than I expected considering the low price. They were easy to install on my own and shorten them to the length required. I was also impressed with the nice pelmet that was also included.
They look great and I would definitely recommend buying these.
Great service and the quality of the blinds are terrific. The items were sent promptly, well packaged and no parts missing. All queries answered promptly.
Ours were purchased from their eBay account and were all delivered by courier in perfect condition and as fast as can reasonably be expected, considering our distance from their warehouse (about a week).
Yes Blinds did everything you'd expect a good eBay trader to do: they communicated each step of the order process, provided a tracking number, left feedback after payment and sent electronic and hard copy of invoice. Big thumbs up from us for their professional conduct.
For each window, there will be the track/pelmet box (long), several boxes of blind vanes and several packs of bottom weights. The quantity of the latter two is dependent on the width of track. If I remember correctly, a 1.5m track can take 19 vanes (89mm width vanes).
The track itself is pre-assembled with the vane clips and rod all ready to go. All you need to do is (accurately) mark and drill some holes for the mounting brackets and the track clips in securely. There's a plastic pelmet set also included, and the mounting arrangement will depend on whether you want to include them or not.
You'll most likely need to cut the vanes to suit, as they're all 2400mm in length. Grab a vane and clip it in. You'll get an accurate measure doing it this way. By clipping one into various clips (I do each end and one in the middle) you'll also confirm the track is square and level. I'd then mark it, cut and re-hang to confirm. If correct, I'd set that aside as my "master" and just trim the others to match.
YOU MUST CUT FROM THE TOP AFTER SLIDING OFF THE TOP CLIP AND RETAINING ROD. NOT THE BOTTOM, OTHERWISE YOU CAN'T SLIDE THE WEIGHT IN.
We have one of those cardboard sewing helpers for fabric measuring, and I found it easier to cut the vanes on this. Scissors can be used, but I used my paper guillotine.
If you're slightly inaccurate your your cutting (say 1-5mm) it's not the end of the world. You have to fold the top around a retaining rod, and it's here that you can make fine adjustments to the drop length. Trial and error is the key, you'll rarely get it perfect first time. Slide folded top into head clip, and clip it to track.
It's repetitive work, but trust me -- it's worth it.
The above is how I did it, but I had the instructions nearby. They're printed on the back of the track box cardboard insert, so don't hastily dispose of that box!
And the results? They look VERY good, and you'd be hard pressed to know they're budget items. They rotate well enough and the weights are sufficient in calm conditions. The only minor gripe is when you slide the vane stack, it's neither the smoothest nor quietest action.
But remember these are about the cheapest verticals you'll find (at the moment anyway).
I found both the sales and after sales service from yes blinds to be excellent. There was a defect in one of the blinds and it was replaced without question and extremely quickly. The staff that i dealt with are a credit to yes blinds. We will definitely be purchasing more blinds through Yes Blinds. Thank you.
I searched the web and finally found this awesome company who were that little bit different from the rest and the products I ordered and received were perfect. Thanks.
Website is awesome, one of the best I have used as I like the detail when purchasing
Blinds are very cost effective compared to say Bunnings, $500 for 5 vertical blinds is very fair
2 Points for improvement: 1) The small mounting points in my opinion suit your business rather than the installer. It takes 2-3 times as long marking and measuring them to ensure they are all in line vs a single aluminium rail that it could mount to. A single aluminium rail would be very easy to install but i'm sure would ramp costs up so you can't really win
2) String Tension On one of the blinds the plastic beads for turning the blinds was shorter than the string used to draw the blinds in and out. What this meant is the plastic bead was under tension and the string wasn't meaning the string hangs down out of the rail post installation. I fixed it somewhat by adding a chipboard screw with no thread on the first 2 cm to force the string out. Very annoying. Other blinds I have seen don't have this problem so I suggesr you come up with a way to prevent this happening or a new manufacture process.
I needed them in a hurry.
