Read the fine print
I have always enjoyed shopping at Peters. Great products at a great price in a world full on chinese rubbish that doesn't last until sunset.
So I had no reservations in buying a present for my daughter online on Monday for a Thursday birthday. In context, delivery is 10km from the store. On Thursday I emailed to ask where it was and got an automated email - "We'll be back to you within 48 hours". Hmmm not so useful on the actual birthday. So I called the store. They said it was dispatched. When I put in the connote number into Austpost, it clearly stated the parcel was manifested but not collected. So figuring collection was now the best option I asked if it were there for me to collect. To which I was told, no it's gone. When I said it should show on Auspost as being collected then, I was told I was wrong. Hmmmm.
I was told they allow 2-5 days for HANDLING. Postage time on top of that. When I asked where that was, I was told to read the fine print. When I said "Well I guess that's my lesson learned" the staff member said "Yes" and asked if there was anything else she could do. Hmmmm.
I buy a lot online. This rates poorly vs other online retailers. The other day I bought 10 Toshiba laptops online for the business. They guy called me within an hour to thank me for the business, apologies for only having 6 in stock and upgraded the order for the other 4 missing. We got them all the following day. That's online shopping at its best. My Peters of Kensington experience unfortunately was amongst the worst. I hope someone from Peters reads this and makes a change or two. You owe it to your shoppers. You owe it to your brand.

Prompt delivery
I have ordered a few items from this store previously. They have a wide range of funky and quirky homewares as well as the standard offerings. Better pricing than the shops, although shipping has to be considered. I received my shipment within a week of placing the order.

Quick delivery, unique gifts
I purchased an art umbrella for an Elvis Fan for Christmas. I thought that it might not arrive in time, seeing as it was so close to Christmas, but Peter's of Kensington were great. Quick delivery (around 3 days) and good postage costs. The things that they have for sale are rather unique so it's hard to rate their pricing, but nothing is outrageos. They have some really good specials throughout the year, sign up to their newsletter database.

Great range at great prices
Peters of Kensington is an institution for any cookware and household items.
While visiting their store can be an overwhelming experience, their website is easy to use and a much more sedate affair! They have a great range of products listed and very competitive prices, often much below the RRP.
The only downside is that there are so many products available, sometimes it is difficult to find what you are looking for.
I have purchased a number of items through their website over the last 12 months, including items on a gift registry.
In this particular instance I bought two packlite suitcases that were on sale and at least 50% cheaper than anywhere else. This was one of their 'daily deals' - worth keeping an eye out for.
Shipping was reasonable ($7) given the size of the items and it arrived within 3 business days.
I received a tax invoice the same day and my item was marked as shipped the next. It then took 4 more days to arrive. Overall, less than a week from purchase date to delivery date. Nothing to complain about there.
The items ordered were solid and seem durable, so am currently happy with the purchase.
Price was less important than the combination of cutlery and items in the package.
Happy to buy from PoK again should the need arise. They normally have a good range, if not the best prices

Easy Wedding Shopping Online!
For the first time, I ordered a wedding present online, through the Peter's of Kensington bridal registry. I purchased competitively priced Bormioli wine glasses and a Visla decanter for $97 including 'handling fee'. The website was quick and easy to use, straight forward, clear instructions. The only difficult bit was working out the postage charge/handling fee for getting gifts delivered en masse to the newlyweds ($5), as it only was shown quite a way into the process. Overall, I found their system quite good, and definitely easier to use and quicker to load than Myer's online bridal registry. Would recommend its use to brides looking for an online store option.
