23 days for my order to arrive from a third party. Not the greatest experience
Ordered a WiiU game to be delivered. i had the choice of in store pickup or to have it delivered, with a wide range of payment options. for my purchase, both options were free, so i chose to have it delivered for the convenience
i was sent an invoice the same day and not long after, my order was marked as shipped - there were no further order details nor tracking details
a week later, not having received my item, i decided to call their help centre to enquire about my order. i was told to wait up to 12 days to allow for my order to arrive, and if it had not done so by then, i could call up again
12 days later, still no delivery, so i called again. as Big W had not sold me the game (seems they were selling the game on behalf of a third party), they advised me that they would follow up on my order for me. i was also offered the choice of a refund, but i preferred to have my game.
several days later i received an email from Big W on behalf of the company stating to please allow up to a total of 20 days for my item to arrive, due to Australia Post delays, and if i still had not received my item by a specified date, to call the company
again, my item did not arrive by the specified date, so i called the number provided. no-one answered my calls, despite calling on numerous occasions at different times, so i left a message.
happily, i did receive an unexpected follow up call and the representative arranged for a replacement item to be sent to be via Express Post.
My game finally arrived the next day.
Overall, although i did receive my game in the end, i found the whole process quite disatisfactory and somewhat frustrating. being told that i would have to wait over 20 days for "local delivery" is very poor and the lack of tracking also proved an issue
i'm not sure i would buy from Big W again, but i guess i cant hold them at fault, as they were selling on behalf of a third party. i can't recommend them, but also can't fault them. i'm sitting on the fence for this one
I got on to the Big W website to order some digital prints. the site is easy to use and I had no difficulty uploading my photo's. They offer all the usual enhancement options such as cropping, red eye reduction, re-sizing and brightness adjustments etc. You get all the options for sizes and paper quality, mat, glossy etc. The price is extremely competitive ($3 for 28 x prints) but it will take about 15 minutes to complete the order. They will charge for delivery although I chose the option to receive an email when the photos were in store for pick up. only downside was it took them about ten days to email me to say they had arrived. Great for those who are time rich and cash poor I guess. I have also gotten some of their photo books and if you have the patients they are the way to go, but that's for another review.
I bought 3 DVDs (Monster's Inc., Pride and Prejucide (1995) and Bright Star) and received them within a week! They were all safely wrapped with no damage and were really cheap (about $10 each!) and postage was only a few dollars too! Great place to buy from and often you can find things online that you can't find in store.
I purchased 3 things from the BigW online store: - Huggies Nappy Pants - Walker Girl, 28 pack, 14-18kg - Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Learning Puppy - Fisher-Price Activity Puzzle
As the order was over $50, I also received free delivery, though I think the amount you pay to receive free shipping varies, depending on what Big W is running at the time.
Big W was running a 25% off toys promotion at the time (pretty similar to other retailers), so prices were pretty competitive and comparable. Im pretty sure the nappies could have been purchased cheaper elsewhere, but for the convenience of purchasing all from one location, i decided to stick with Big W.
Paid quickly and easily via Paypal, although there are many other options available.
Delivery took 3 days, which was longer than their estimates, but still within good time
All 3 items came together, well packaged in the one box.
Was sent regular email updates about the progress of my order eg. your payment was successful, your items have been dispatched etc. so happy with my overall experience, and would purchase from Big W again.
I have purchased through BigW's online store on several occasions. Their shipping is always prompt, and communication good. They also offer some fantastic online-only deals, where quite a bit of money can be saved.
I was so happy with a previous purchase of coffee grinders I ordered on this occasion that I bought a couple more as gifts when they were offering free shipping.
On the 11/02/2013 i ordered 2x 'PS3 Pulse Premium Cable Pack (AV Component)' each pack contained a PS3 to component cable,an extra long play and charge cable (very handy!) and a optical cable.
The 2 packs ended up costing me nothing thanks to a $10 off voucher,just paid $5 for shipping and from memory took 10-12 days to arrive.
