rosesandkittens would shop at Book Depository again.
Love BD!
Gotta love the Internet for Book Depository. Not that I know anyone who shops in physical bookstores anymore, but BD has some of the best prices, especially in our consumer hell of a country. Plus, there's free shipping on all orders!
I picked up the riveting "Mao's China and After" paperback for $35.86. I was super pleased that they stocked it, and even more pleased because the uni bookshop sold it for like double the price.
Delivery was unexpectedly slow - I received it after roughly 3 weeks. It was the most I've ever waited for an international package, so I'm wondering if was an one-off or if Britain just takes forever. Nonetheless, the book was in perfect, undamaged condition and was exactly what I needed! No complaints because it saved me a lot of dosh.
The price of books in Australia is absolutely shocking. The Book Depository is simply the best place for Australians to buy books online. Their range is expansive and the prices are far lower than our local retailers. With free shipping from the UK, the little bit of extra shipping time is a small price to pay for such savings.
I recently purchased a large paperback nutrition book and received it within 10 days. Previously I bought the Hunger Games Trilogy, read it, and then resold it on Ebay for more than I paid for it on this site!
So long as you aren't in a rush, I highly recommend The Book Depository.
The textbook i purchased from book depository was cheap and came in secure packaging. The shipping was also very quick and arrived in 5 days! Book depository also confirms when items have been dispatched and FAQ questions are conveniently answered at the end of every email.
Ordered the following Nicholas Sparks titles: A walk to remember : $12.79 The Lucky One: $7.30 Message in a bottle: $7.30 Safe Haven: $13.71
Speedy delivery and signifcantly cheaper than physical stores. I noticed that they sent items individually rather than together, so I did recieve items on different days. I assume this is to prevent delays in delivery, though it isn't the most environmentally friendly process. Love their service. Have bought from them many times.
Bought: The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins for $11.54
Not significantly cheaper than in stores as Kmart we're advertising the book for $12. I also noticed that the pages were more yellow when they were sourced from the book depository. It is not only this book, but other orders I have made that tend to have a less "bleached" look to the pages. Delivery was fast and efficient. There is also no need for signature, which is a bonus in my eyes as a full time student.
after i found out that with amex i can get 10% off from the books purchase in bookdepository i decided to take a look, and they have extensive choice of titles! i think you could possibly find anything you want in your local bookstore there and besides the cheap price, they have free shipping for all the orders!
the only drawback is that the shipping might take 7-10 days as it is shipped from europe to australia.
and they are really generous with bookmarks i bought 3 books, got it in 3 different envelopes and got a looot of bookmarks
I am a frequent shopper with The Book Depository and I can always be assured of their good low price and additional 'no' shipping charges. I have noticed that at times this does make the actual book prices a couple dollars more than in other online stores but when the shipping is added to the total, The Book Depository always comes out on top. If there is any problem at all, it would be the shipping time, which ranges around two weeks or more.
