Buy books online from Fishpond.com.au, Australias best online book store. We sell lots of new and used books, music and movies online at discount pricesBooks. Australia - It's shopping made easy.
I bought a textbook from Fishpond for about 70% of the price in most bookstores. Shipping was free for my item but even including shipping, which varies per book- their prices are extremely competitive. Shipping was quite quick and came after 4 days of ordering.
I have used fishpond before for my children's school books. I always make sure I do a price check and usually they are the cheapest. This time I bought a text book, delivered to my door for nearly half the price of the local bookshop without delivery. Saves me a lot of time and money.
I ordered a book as a Christmas present for my niece and I was very happy with the delivery time and price of the book. Fishpond's prices are very competitive.
Bought this item due to a price which seemed to be excellent, and free shipping. Ended up dissapointed, however, as i had to wait for a long time for updates only to find out it was cancelled as they didn't have enough stock. Getting a refund was also a hassel which about 3 weeks. Not keen to shop there again after my experience.
I purchased a cook book from this site for about $25. It was an Australian cook book so I wasn't able to buy it from any of the overseas sites like Amazon. Fishpond offered the cheapest price around and free shipping. It arrived within a week of ordering it and was packaged well so it arrived undamaged. Was quite happy and would shop there again.
Have purchased from Fishpond.com.au many times. Recent purchase was Mario Bros jigsaw puzzle and a science circuit kit - Snap Circuits Extreme SC-750 (which is only available in the USA).
Prices are usually cheaper than other online stores selling the same product. However you need accept the cheaper price for the long shipping times. Shipping is free for all items which is a bonus but again you need to be patient with the delivery times.
I purchased the science circuit kit on 21/10/2012 and it still not here. In saying that Fishpond do send updates on the revised shipping dates, and will cancel the item if you wish not to proceed with buying due to delays in delivery. Once thing they do is if you have multiple items on one purchase they will ship individual items seperately.
I would purchase from here again but having past experience I wouldn't order any urgent items as delivery times are unpredictable.
I purchased a product, weight scales, for 630 dollars. My card details were taken, and the order apparently processed, even getting the "thank you" email and the time I can expect arrival. I waited out the two-month period and then contacted them. They tell me that they had sent the following email,
"To protect your security and as a routine check of new customers we would like to request that you send a scanned copy of a utility bill with your name and address as proof of delivery address."
Perhaps I did indeed miss this email. I am told they did not charge my card. But the email was sent after previous emails that my product was on its way, and that it would arrive by a certain date. This is a level of bureaucracy that is ridiculous. I order even more expensive items than this from the USA and the UK, sometime getting it within a week (UPS) and with no problems whatsoever. A copy of my utility bill? No one else, after years of ordering has ever asked this, and then done so AFTER the order has apparently been processed. I guess this is an Australian thing, sadly, where so many businesses, due to lack of competition, simply do not provide a good service, and do not care if you give them your business or not. I have never encountered such wasteful procedures before. Again, I have ordered bigger items, had it delivered quickly, and they just took my money. The procedure that is laid out by Fishpond in Australia is so onerous and even insulting, that one would imagine this was a government agency doing a criminal check. Unbelievable. No wonder our economy is going to hell in a hand basket, with businesses like this that simply do not take your money, nor do they take a reasonable risk, like other businesses in other countries. Pitiful.
