I ordered a calendar for a Christmas present on 25 Nov. It said it was in stock and would ship in around a week. Today (17 Dec) I thought I should follow up because I had heard nothing since my order confirmation. Surprise, surprise! They write back saying the calendar 'has gone out of print and we will be unable to supply your order.' They are refunding my payment. Two things: What would have happened if I hadn't followed up with them? Would they have just kept my money? Why wasn't I informed that the order couldn't be filled sometime within the three weeks from when I ordered until when I followed up. Were they just planning on keeping my money and not sending the product. I don't think they can be trusted and I will never use them again.
I'm having the same problem now ordered a book said it was in stock and still does ! My book is on order and estimated deliver is 3 weeks!!
Sorry to hear that Brad. As I said, I won't use them again. They even sent me a voucher (I think it was for $10), but I still refuse to use them. $10 didn't make up for the inconvenience and the additional expense I had to wear to have a calendar delivered from Dymocks by express post to arrive in time for Christmas :-(
I ended up visiting Bookworld via a Clickfrenzy link as I wanted to pick up a few books for Christmas and they had a great discount advertised. The books were in stock and both titles were estimated to be delivered "Within 7-10 working days". This was fine, not too quick but then I still had enough time. I received one of my books unexpectedly as I did not receive a dispatch e-mail, until 2 days after I had received it. I still had not received an update regarding the second book in the order so I sent off an e-mail to ask what was going on. Apparently I had not received an e-mail they had sent to customers declaring that this book was on order and they did not have an ETA for the book or when I would receive it. Their response to my concerns surrounding the lack of communication and false information supplied on the site? See below:
"all the issue you have raised are an ongoing problem. They will be addressed and resolved next year when you have a major upgrade to our website. I'm sorry for the current inconvenience. You can call us and have a chat if you have any concerns on the number below."
Unless a $40 book is going to cost me $10 and I can afford to wait 4-6 weeks for it, I doubt I will use these guys again.
