I decided to give Harvest Box a go as they had a campaign on where you only pay $1 for your initial box.
They deliver four snack portions of nuts or dried fruits to your house or workplace. The portions are very small. The price is $7.95 per box including delivery. I think they are overpriced for the portions they give and that's why I decided not to order again after the initial box. You also decide what day you want the box(es) delivered and how often.
I would much rather go to my local supermarket to buy bigger portions of nuts and dried fruits then put them into little containers to bring with me as it works out to be a lot cheaper.
Harvest Box is a great concept, delivering four snack portions of dried fruit and nuts in a convenient and recyclable cardboard box. The site is fun and easy to use to rate the snack blends you receive and hence adjust which ones you get in future. Each delivery includes four surprise blends based on the preferences you've input into the site - not great if you're after something very specific, but I personally found the mystery factor added to my enjoyment of the product.
Each delivery arrived right on schedule for the days I had chosen - after the initial sign-up it takes a few days to start receiving the boxes, but after that they are very precise and arrive exactly when you want them to. Deliveries can be scheduled as often per week as you would like them, and the days are yours to select as well. The boxes are compact and delivered with the regular mail, making it simple and easy.
At $7.95 per box, the price is fairly steep for a snack, but the amounts really do last all day and the convenience and fun involved really makes it worth the price, not to mention that the fruit and nut blends were healthy and delicious! Overall, a great service if you can afford the cost.
