My recent experience with Myer leaves me with questions:
Has Myer no understanding of how an online shop should behave? Have they done NO research as to standard waiting times and customer expectations?
I ordered two jackets (same style in diff sizes) ten days ago. By the end of the first week I was concerned, as I'd received no confirmation or anything. I emailed customer service to find out what was going on. I received no reply from their customer service team! Finally, more than a week later a tracking number arrived in my inbox. I saw that the jackets had only been posted that day! By the time they arrive, they will have taken longer than an international order from other stores!!

The jackets arrived and the one that fits still has the security tag attached, so I can't wear it!! There's no way I will keep it now. I like but don't love it and I won't be bothered returning it to get the tag taken off and then take it home. It can go back with the one that doesn't fit!
I would NEVER buy from Myer again for something I wanted in a hurry: my advice is to set aside THREE WEEKS from order to completion, and only buy from their online store if you're absolutely desperate for the thing you're buying - otherwise, go elsewhere!
I ordered two fragrance sets and a candle for a click and collect order. They contacted me a week later saying that they need to source the items from another store therefore need to post them to me. I had advised them the day after I put it the order that I no longer wanted one of the fragrance sets, they said that's fine. However, I still haven't received a refund or either of the fragrance sets. I received my candle today which came in a box that is peeling and really bad condition.
I expected a lot more from Myer and still waiting on a resolution on my refund and other fragrance set. Hopefully they get their act together.
Problematic website, subpar prices. Item delivered though
Ordered a Nespresso Coffe machine in preparation for Fathers Days. Received free delivery as the order was over $100.
Can't say the website was very user friendly. Consistently wouldnt recognise my address, nor alternate addresses i tried to input. As i was attempting my order on a Sunday, i couldn't contact customer service for assistance as they were not open on Sundays. I tried contacting a store for assistance and after speaking to someone, was advised my call would be returned. I never got a call back.
I decided to try again the next day and this time managed to place my order. Received an email confirmation.
My item was then marked as shipped 2 days later. it arrived another 2 days after that. Overall, 5 business days to receive it. I was happy with that.
Looking around, i found the price of the same unit wasnt particularly competitive. Combined with my (lack of) customer service and difficulties in actually making the online purchase, i think that Myers was just lucky that i was lazy and stubbornly persisted to complete the transaction.
i can't say i was happy with my first experience with buying from Myers, but if the price and product is right, i would consider buying from them again. i just hope they improve the online buying experience...
I ordered a set of 3 chloe perfumes, 1 vera wang perfume set, 1 bardot top and 1 pair of bettina liano jeans. There is free shipping if you spend over $100. My items were all sent out separately, therefore all arrived separately. This was frustrating as they all had to be signed for and I had to go to the post office on several occasions to pick up the parcels. It would be nice if they could ship them in one package, one of the items I received was wrong so I went into a store and got a refund. The girl who served me in store was rude.
My last package arrived over two weeks from the date I ordered which is very poor as it is being delivered domestically.
The products came separately which made it very hard for me to track. It took me over 2 weeks before I decided that the 2 remaining items were not going to arrive and to email them about it.
I was advised that the first item was no longer available and they attempted to contact me before refunding the $ into my account. They must've forgotten about the second item as they advised it was no longer available and my $ will be refunded.
I enjoy being able to purchase from a reputable retailer where I can trust the quality and brands stocked. However, I'm not sure whether I'd order so many items together again as their emails do not clearly articulate the status of each item in the order and made it up to me to keep track.
Prices nothing special. More for convenience of locations
Ordered a travel backpack in preparation for travelling in the nearby future.
As my order was over $100, shipping was free.
The pricing was comparable to other stores, but I chose Myers due to the convenient locations of their stores in case I had issues with my item.
My order was confirmed the same day and marked as shipped 3 days later. As I wasn't home when the item was delivered, it was dropped off at the nearest Australia post storage centre (as the item was large and bulky).
I arranged for a family member to pick it up the next week as the centre was only open during business hours, which I couldn't make.
Overall, from making the order to delivery, only 5 days, so I'm happy with the service. The bag seems decent, but the true test will be when I actually travel with it and put it through its paces.
Based on this experience, I'll be happy to buy from Myers again
Overall the shopping experience is quite positive.
Most of the items are well priced – and you can get some great bargains on clearance items.
The website itself is pretty terrible. It's "clunky" to use, often doesn't work at all, some items don't have prices (or they're just plain wrong), items listed as available when they're sold out, payment gateway crashing... the list goes on. It's manageable, but you'll need to have patience.
Some of the items I ordered were out of stock which was frustrating, but communication regarding this was excellent. I received emails detailing exactly what had happened and quick refunds.
I asked about getting a replacement however, and this wasn't possible. They couldn't exchange it for an alternative either.
As the items are all coming from different stores, everything is shipped individually. I recently bought ~15 pairs of underwear, and they arrived in 10 different parcels from 10 different places. I only paid for shipping once - which was reasonably priced - so I guess this doesn't really matter, but it does make it hard to keep track of deliveries.
I haven't needed to return anything, but the returns policy is fair and clear.
