Fair prices and good selection. But maybe easier to buy in store
Ordered a bottle of wine as a present for a friends birthday. Received free shipping as part of a promotion that Dan Murphy was offering.
My item was marked as shipped one week later, and delivered to my address the same day. as i wasnt home, it was taken back to their warehouse(?). The company used was Nexday Logistics.
As i wasnt able to arrange pickup of the item during the week, i had a family member pick it up. the item was well packaged/protected.
Thinking back, it may have been easier (and quicker) if i had just driven to a local Dan Murphy to grab the item myself. Seems like that free delivery part didnt work as too well as i ended picking it up, from a location further away from my nearest store. i guess you win some, and you lose some =)
to be fair, i believe there was an option to have the item re-delivered on a later date, but i never took it up
For those reasons above, i'm not sure i'd order online again from DM. Nothing wrong with the service and the price, it may just be quicker to drive to a nearby store and grab the items i want myself instead
Great Range, and great prices when you stick to the specials!
We bought two bottles of Hennesy VSOP Cognac for both sets of parents for christmas, and because we shopped online, each was only $70 - quite cheap, I think (although admittedly, I'm not a connoisseur). Delivery was $7, so we sort of broke even on the price, but for me it was great not to have to go into the Christmas chaos!
Their turnaround was quick enough, as we received our order within a few working days, and all in all, the experience was smooth and stress free... much better than braving the christmas shopping horrors!
I recently purchased approx $300 worth of liquor from Dan Murphy's online and selected the click & collect option.
This was hassle free, avoided the lines, and it was all chilled and waiting to go when I arrived at the store all within 2 hours of ordering. I would recommend to everyone.
On the 06/01/2013 i ordered a case of 24 Matilda Bay variety pack beer which included Fat Yak Pale Ale,Beez Neez Honey Wheat Beer,Big Helga Munich Style Lager and Redback Original Wheat Beer.
The price was $25 delivered (close expiry) and was dispatched on the 09/01/2013 and on the 15/01/2013 it was delivered.
I was in Japan at the time I placed this order, two days' before my friend's 21st Birthday. Stuck in a bind, I placed my trust in Dan Murphy's to get great tasting drinks to my mate in time for her birthday. And they didn't let me down! I bought seven bottles of cider and a bottle of wine to be sent over to her house and they all arrived in one delivery, safe and sound.
Shipping, depending on your delivery address of course, can be incredibly speedy. I've ordered here several times for the Inner West NSW area and I've had my orders delivered as soon as a few business days after placing my order. They also have an update SMS feature where they keep you regularly notified regarding the status of your delivery - which I think is quite helpful.
Their user review feature on the site also helps you get a better idea on how your chosen beverage will taste and whether you'll like it which I think is very helpful for people trying things for the first time.
