despicable and deplorable service, worst experience ever
firstly, the positives : from a previously successful order, i decided to buy 3 more items from the hut. 2 tshirts and a jacket. got sent the usual confirmation, thanks for your order and despatch emails i received one of my items
now the negative : for the second shirt i was sent an incorrect item. i queried why and was told, the other shirt was out of stock and so i was sent a "substitute". not even close to what i ordered. as i wasnt happy, i was told i was required to ship the item back (at my cost) and if it was received, i would be issued a refund
im not happy that payment was taken only to be told that my item was not in stock. secondly, they should not have sent me a "substitute" item without my consent (sounds like bait and switch to me!) and now its up to me to send the item back to them at my expense.
ive contacted them with my complaint, and was sent a generic, your item has been dispatched reply. obviously not happy, ive sent emails to 2 separate departments in an attempt to get a resolution (complete refund for the shirt and a reply paid satchel at their expense).
there has been no further correspondence. it has been four days, and still no reply, despite their claim that they try "their best to respond to all enquiries within 1 day"
to top it off, i also have not yet received my jacket.
it seems that they are happy to take my money and nothing else. no service at all.
definitely not buying from them again after this experience.
now i have to chase down a refund. would definitely not recommend buying from The Hut
They have a lot of items for a lot cheaper than they're available in Australia. Their range is quite good and you can snag a bargain, although their clothing is usually only available in the less popular sizes. Their shipping is cheap, capped at 1 pound worldwide. Only problem I have is that they sometimes oversell items and cancel orders without notice. Also, although they say everything will be shipping out within 25 hours, that's usually not the case. Good place to find a bargain, but be aware that they can cancel without notice and shipping times can vary greatly.
Price was excellent at 18 pounds, plus 1 pound for shipping. Shipping took approximately 10 business days, however item was in perfect condition. UK stock but worked perfectly on Australian consoles and was worth it for the cheaper price.
Good prices (for Christmas sales) and cheap shipping
Decided to take a risk and try buying shoes online for the first time as I havent been able to find a pair here that I liked.
The Hut was running Christmas sales promotions, so decided to give them a go.
Ordered a pair of Black Everlast Sport shoes for under $30 AUD delivered (delivery is 1 pound - roughly $1.50 AUD)
Payment was made via Paypal. Was sent emails to let me know about successful payment and items being shipped.
Delivery time was about 4 weeks. One thing I wasnt too happy with was the fact that the shoes were delivered in a simple plastic postage bag, similar to AustPost regular post bags - I felt that they could have been damaged and flattened by other items while in transit.
The shoes looked better in the pictures than they did in real life, but for $30, they are more than acceptable.
The Hut is worth looking at as it offers some decent bargains at times. The Hut is one such online store. I purchased a Boxfresh cardigan and compared to Australian prices, it was cheaper.
Shipping being international took a week or two but it arrived in good condition without trouble, price wasn't also a major issue compared to some sites, even though being international. Overall very reasonable.
Definitely a good place to look for the odd bargain.
Ordered a 3ds game for 5.38pounds, plus 99pence shipping and i had a 10% off so it was really cheap for a 3ds game from overseas and even cheaper than i could buy instore over here.
