I have ordered from Coles Online several times this year due to having had a baby and it being difficult to get out to the shops. I continue to be disappointed with this service and have now chosen not to use them again. On this particular occasion I ordered a FVSalad ComboBox(Jumbo) $60rrp which they advertise online only to receive an "out of stock" email just hours before the expected delivery time. Considering this was over 80% of my order and all my Fruit & Veg for the week, I was extremely upset. The only positive I can say about this situation was that I was able to cancel the order and the Customer Care team is wonderful to deal with.
I have had a similar problem with their F&V boxes in the past when they simply forgot to deliver it. They offered me a credit but as again it was my full F&V order for the week I said that wasn't good enough so they delivered it later that night with an apology gift.
As I said, their Customer Care team is fantastic, but the service itself and the fact that they are always missing stock, along with prices being significantly higher than instore, plus delivery, it's just not worth it.
I shop regularly with Coles online, this order was delivered 15 mins early and the driver was pleasant , helpful and all my items were in perfect condition.
I use Coles online for a large monthly shop, the delivery came on time, all items ordered were delivered and I received some free samples. Coles always makes it easy and hassle free for me to get my grocery shopping done.
I rely so much on Coles online as I do not drive and my work hours are varied. This shop was delivered on time, all products were in great condition and the driver was very friendly. Coles makes it easier to organise your shopping without the crowds and public transport.
Coles online shopping can be an absolute life saver, especially if you have young children and find it hard to get out of the house, do the big weekly shop and still manage to keep everyone calm at the same time! Sometimes though, it is not so helpful and items are left out from orders, entire bags are missing, healthy/fat free items are replaced with full fat items and then there are the items that are out of stock all together. On top of that, you have to decide whether to risk your fresh fruit, veg and meats on a complete stranger packing your shopping. Too many times I have received meats and deli goods that are a day out from their used by dates, under ripe fruit and mushy vegetables.. this all defeats the purpose of the "convenient" online shop as you end up having to go in anyway! Shipping is always pretty good though (being in the 2 or 3 hourly time frame you choose to reserve) and only once have I had a late delivery which was about 20mins overdue. The foods items are always very cold and packed well and most of the time the delivery men and women are lovely. I shop at Coles online when I am time poor or when I just plain can't be bothered and I would say that most of the time I am happy with it, but like everything it does have it's ups and downs.
I was without a car for a few months and found ordering from Coles very convenient. Delivery is always within the allocated time and there are a variety of delivery windows to choose from at various price points.
The range of products is very similar to what is found in stores however some products that are in larger stores are not available.
Occasionally an ordered item might be out of stock. When you order you choose whether you would like these items to be substituted for a similar item or not. I have found this frustrating sometimes when I have ordered something specifically for a recipe and don't receive the item, although this does not happen frequently.
The drivers are always friendly and willing to help move heavy items such as multiple bags of potting mix or kitty litter to different areas of my garden (it's a small garden) if needed.
It's really important to be aware of cut off times when ordering because they are very strict. Be very careful with allowing computer processing times.
This is a great service if you want to organise your shopping in advance.
Coles Online is a user friendly website, perfect for time poor customers. The shopping basket remembers your purchases even if you stop shopping for a day or so, in this way it is an ideal digital shopping list.
Coles offer a variety of delivery timeslots and, unlike Safeway, the prices vary based on the time you would like the shopping delivered. This means the service can cost as little as $8. My only disappointment was that my delivery on this occasion arrived a good half an hour AFTER the two hour timeslot selected, without apology or explanation. That said, the driver was courteous and carried the items right to my kitchen bench.
