Victoria's Basement has previously been one of my favourite new stores, and I've bought a couple of dishes sets from there which I have LOVED!
This experience was unfortunately a bit more mixed, but it had a happy ending so I feel ambivalent about it now.
I bought an Oneida cutlery set which looked lovely online and which is similar to one my friend has (so I knew it would be good!). The set was around $75. I also bought a little steak knife set, which was around $18, because I was already paying postage on the cutlery set, so it seemed convenient.
When the package arrived, the cutlery set was marked and damaged, it looked like a manufacturing fault.
The customer service rep was great and organised for a return via reply paid, which I appreciated so much.
But the postage was not refunded because I had bought two items. So my little cheapy steak knife set, which was very average quality was going to cost $18 + an extra 75% ($12) for postage!
I tried to discuss this with a rep and initially was shut down.
I sent a second email and finally the service team refunded my postage.
My recommendation is that if you want to buy from Victoria's basement, you can do so with confidence, but know that you might have to put your foot down if things go awry.
Victoria's Basement is amazing! I ordered the Gordon Ramsay Blue Maze by Royal Doulton Set with breakfast cups. It was half the price from this store than it is elsewhere.
Victoria's Basement always delivers; their stock is fantastic, cheap and always current. They don't sell stock which they don't have (unlike other bargain stores which often oversubscribe their customers and have to cancel sales).
I am moving into a new place with my boyf soon, and I can't wait to go crazy at Vic's Basement!
Ps, not to sound too much like an infomercial, but these guys have one FLAT rate for multiple items, which means you can buy 10 things and still pay around $10-12 for shipping, depending on your location.
shopperholic would shop at Victorias Basement again.

This website is a favourite of mine! Its a simple, user-friendly website. I purchased a Benzer - Takashi Infuser Tea Pot 1.4Ltr 8 Cup for my teas. It can packaged well within 3 days. I was unsure how it would go as it is glass however, it arrived in great condition. They can even gift wrap if you like.
