I ordered some Kombu from iherb.Since the awful tragedy where iodine poisoning from Kombu powder was responsible for some terrible thyroid illnesses or some such, it has been almost impossible to source.
However, Kombu is valued by some Chinese and Japanese chefs for its ability to soften grains and make them more easy to eat and digest. It's a fantastic additive to soups and even to rice. I don't eat so much of it that I would ever get poisoned, even on the very low chance that the iodine levels were super high - mostly only once or twice a week. It is so healthy and nutritious, too.
So, I am glad to find iherb. Their shipping is lightening fast, and their products are great. They *are* slightly more expensive than a health food shop, if you include postage, but as I only use them in the odd instance, I'm not too bothered by that.
This was my first time ordering off of iherb. They have a great range of products. I bought cosmetics and skin care. There was an offer for free shipping when spending over $40 so i used that. Otherwise new members will get $10 off their order. The shipping took a whole 2 weeks to arrive.
I simply love ordering off here so much, I did a large order consisting of Real Techniques brushes/sponges, ELF brushes, eyeshadows, and various bits and bobs. My order totalled about $80 and arrived in 14 business days in a box.
The box had paper in it to cushion the impact but not everything was wrapped...I was concerned about the large ELF eyeshadow palette that didn't come bubblewrapped and could have broken on impact. However everything was safe so I'm glad.
Pleased with my entire purchase and can always depend on iHerb! If anyone is interested in a code for $10 off orders of $40 or more, or $5 off on orders less than $40 for your FIRST order...you can enter my code: BCQ325. Thanks lovely people!
I like iHerb because they have a huge selection of organic product in a reasonal price. I ordered some organic shampoo and toothpastes of various US brands and they do their jobs pretty well. The shipping from iHerb usually takes 2 to 3 weeks. However, I wish they can carry some more drugstore brands.
