I ordered an extra stick of memory from Crucial to upgrade my computer at the time, specifically 1 x BL25664AA80A 2GB, Ballistix 240-pin DIMM.
Their prices seemed competitive compared to others and they have a useful tool on their site which can scan your computer and tell you what memory you have and can have in it. It arrived three days after ordering and I was happy with the product and order.
I ordered a 8GB memory (CT999730 8GB Kit (4GBx2)) for my 2010 late model MacBook Pro 17inch.
The memory itself costed $66, which is reasonable. Although you can find cheaper memory from other online stores but you don't know whether it's reliable.
The memory arrived after 2 weeks. The item was shipped from U.S via UPS and there was a $25 shipping fee.
I wouldn't say Crucial has the cheapest price but Mac memory is not something you can just go for cheap price, it needs to be reliable and quality, and that's Crucial.com.
They also have a memory wizard on their website which is great to help you find the right memory model for your computer.
I installed the memory upgrade on my MacBook Pro and after months now I haven't had any problems.
