Not worth it
Australian customers are overcharged and in some cases, items are twice the cost of what other countries are paying. I only shop here to save myself time and money from going into the store. Shipping took 6 days from Sydney to Melbourne and they don't accept returns. They did send me a 25% off voucher for my birthday which was a nice gesture.
I bought a swimsuit/bodysuit from American Apparel to wear to a lady gaga concert. It was super cool and neon which was perfect for the theme of the show. It arrived in just over a week as advertised and shipping was free! American Apparel have great customer service along with great prices and often have coupon codes.
I ordered $300 worth of clothing, but I received both a 20% discount and free shipping which was great (shipping for that much product probably would've been expensive!). I love American Apparel clothing - it's really good quality and the pieces I ordered complement my wardrobe really well. I ordered October 17 2012, the order was shipped out on the 20th and I received a package the next week! There was an issue with the sizing, where I received a pair of jeans a size too large (through a fault of my own – I read the sizing chart incorrectly), so I quickly phoned them and they sent me a bag to mail the size 25 jeans back and immediately mailed out a size 25 which I received within the week. Great service, and I got a discount code for my next purchase – will definitely be ordering some winter clothes before the weather gets too cold!

I recently ordered a pink hoodie for my elderly Labrador for this cold winter. The website is pretty each to use, all their products are produced sweatshop free and its all pretty good quality and nice designs. Unfortunately its pretty pricey but the shipping is relativity good value at $8 for 7-14 business days.
I bought a dress online at American Apparel and I was surprised to discover that it fit perfectly, like a glove!
It was the Chiffon Tie Back dress. I am a size 12 and I find the L in American Apparel is sometimes a little too small, which is ridiculous.
But this dress had a tie back, which means it can be loosened or tightened. So it fit perfectly, and I've received SO many compliments since buying it!
American Apparel *do* charge for shipping, but their online store stocks stuff you can't buy in Australian stores, so it's pretty worth it!
I know it's supposed to be the season for giving to others, but my family is sort of horrible when it comes to gift giving, so I bought some stuff for myself instead!
I bought the cotton spandex Julliard top in grey. It is SO flattering. I wasn't sure it would fit, but it fit perfectly.
The shipping was super fast too, I wasn't expecting that.
