as my regular IT shop didnt have the HDD in stock, i tried calling mwave to see if they had it. they said yes, and that i could order it online first, and come and pick it up in store 1 hour later
prices for the HDD were pretty similar around the place so i placed the order and had the intention to head straight there to pick it up.
luckily, i decided to do a few other chores first, as after 2 hours, i called up with my order number and asked if my item was available to be picked up.
i was told no, the item had been dispatched from their warehouse and there was a chance it might be ready to pick up on the day or after 24 hours - i was told to keep my eye out for an email
i was abit annoyed that i was told one thing by one staff member and then told i may have to wait until the next day. i had specifically wanted the HDD on the same day, thats why i placed the order so quickly.
luckily, after constantly checking my email, i received my "your order is ready" email, so a total wait of 4hours. i picked it up.
i would have been quite irritated if i had placed my order, headed straight there, expecting to only wait 1 hour, but instead having to wait 4. i would have been equally annoyed if i had to wait until the next day. but overall, im happy as i ended up receiving my item on the day, for a comparable price.
I spent a bit of time researching Mwave. The prices for the site were great in comparison. I was looking at a new modem and monitor for my PC. I decided to give it a go. The only hiccup I found was you have to register and then approve your payment method. They charge you a small transaction (0.1 cent kind of thing) and you need to confirm what they charged so they know you're the credit card holder. This is good for security, sure, but my bank thought it was a fraudulent transaction (someone trying to skim my account) and put all my accounts on hold!! The bank fixed it really quick and I eventually got my products from Mwave without any other drama. Took around 5 business days to arrive. Not bad.
I brought a Linksys E1500 wireless router when M Wave was having an hour-long flash sale. It came with free shipping and a $30 rebate that Cisco Australia offered. That essentially made the router free. The ordering process was terrible as their servers struggled to keep up with the load during the flash sale and pages takes more than 10 minutes to load.

needed an upgrade from a portable USB2 portable hard drive, as copying large amounts of content over USB2 is horribly slow and painful
my order was paid for and confirmed in the morning and ready for pickup by mid afternoon, so really quick.
didnt pick it up until a few days later, but cant complain about the speed of both the service from mwave and the new hard drive
so far so good. would buy from mwave again
