I rang their customer service on the sizes of this particular shoe (whether it was US/AU/UK) as it wasnt specified on their website (that I could see) and was informed that sizes were in US. They had my US size in stock so I placed the order, receiving a confirmation email the same day.
I received an email the next day notifying me that my item had been shipped, and it arrived 2 days after that. Quick enough for me.
Somewhat annoyingly, it turned out that the shoe was actually UK sizes (the US size was not available on their website, so I didnt accidently select the wrong one). That being the case, it meant that they didnt have my US size in stock. To help solve the problem, I threw in a pair of shoe insoles to fill up space.
Feedback on my first pair of Lacoste shoes. For the price and being a branded pair, I expected the shoes to be a bit more padded and comfortable (the upper lining felt thin and hard, and I think the soles are actually quite thin too, so not good for long walks), so I'm disappointed. Perhaps I need to wear them in a bit more to soften the leather and the fact that they are possibly one size too large for me could also contribute to this. Time will tell. But at least they look nice. Definitely a story of form over function, in this case.
Being misinformed by customer service about the sizes was a nuisance, as I could have ended up with a pair of shoes that didnt fit me at all. They do offer refunds, but please be aware that in their terms and conditions, payments made through PayPal are not refunded to your card, but rather as a David Jones gift card, which I feel is an inconvenience and not entirely fair. I would not have appreciated being stuck with a gift card. One of the main reasons why I actually chose to keep the shoes.
Luckily it worked out in the end, sort of. Not a deal breaking experience, and I guess I'll shop here again, eventually...
Have made 3 purchases online. First order arrived with security tags still attached. Second order arrived again goods had security tags attached. Third order received though not the correct contents - the goods and shipping advice belonged to someone else. Another return item. Customer Service extremely helpful and apologise profusely. The issue appears to be in the Fulfilment Section.
CPascal would not shop at David Jones Online again.
So dissapointed
I love David Jones but the stock consistency store to store is frustrating so I used online services and more expensive non delivery failed to comply with sign upon receipt instructions. Instead not carded and sent to Australia Post. They got (lost) with a squiggle signature Never again.PS the irony of it being signed D Jones. That's so funny they must be joking surely?
It's difficult to be objective with this review considering my recent experience with David Jones Online. I placed a large order expecting to receive it 3 weekdays later as is the claim on their website relating to shipping. Instead of receiving my goods I got an email asking for a security check due to the large purchase which I understand. I did not understand why it took 3 days for David Jones Online to email me. With this delay, I would not have the goods in my hands in time for the weekend so I informed David Jones Online customer service to cancel and refund the charge to my card. I informed them verbally and via an email directly to the person who emailed me about the security check. Half an hour after sending my email about the intent to cancel the order I received a phone call from the David Jones Online rep asking me for my card number to process the chargeback. David Jones Online had successfully contacted me twice via two different methods regarding the pending order at this stage. This is an important point and is the cause of the poor review. Now 3 weeks later I receive my statement only to find that David Jones Online did not refund my card. I called David Jones Online customer service to find out why. I was told an incredible lie that you can only laugh at, David Jones Online should be embarrassed to tell such lies as it makes the service look even more of a joke that I now know it to be. I was told that numerous attempts had been made to contact me in order to let me know they could not process a refund to my card. I asked how was I allegedly contacted and she said calls and emails. When I was contacted to confirm a $2k order they were able to contact me twice with success but when it came time to refund it, they conveniently could not manage to contact me. I found it insulting to be lied to, I voiced my disgust on the phone only to receive a snide little reply from David Jones Online customer service. They displayed a complete disregard to my needs as a customer, made no effort or offer to placate my requirements, the service and the people who represent David Jones Online a clearly incapable of providing a service that is acceptable by any standard.

No delivery, no explanation.
I placed an order with David Jones online for standard delivery to a home address. Working from home, I was at home all day every weekday from placing order to delivery date to wait for it. On the delivery date I received an SMS notifying me that it was instead at a post office without any good reason, and that I had to collect it. I was unable to get to the post office and explained the situation to David Jones. They then informed me this morning that, not only will they not be delivering the item to the address as promised, they can only "return it to sender" (themselves), which will take up to 10 days, and then issue a refund, which will take a further seven days. I'd been a big fan of David Jones until now, and would warn anyone against purchasing online from the store.
