I purchased a laptop from Bing Lee in January (it was on sale at the time, roughly $90 below what it was normally sold for). By June it had had started turning off randomly (in addition to other issues it had with the wifi) so I went to Bing Lee to get it repaired and they took it to assess before shipping it off for repairs. Originally it was behaving for them so they called me to say they won't send it off - in their words "I'm not saying you're lying but it seems fine to me". I returned to pick it up a few days later, only to be told that it had been acting up and was sent off for repairs but nobody had bothered to tell me.
When the laptop returned it was still having all the same issues from before so I asked Bing Lee for a refund. They adamantly and forcefully refused, eventually getting me to leave it at the store with the charger. They called, telling me that they had investigated how they could help me but they weren't able to refund me unless ASUS had assessed it three times, so they agreed to send it to ASUS to ask for a refund or, failing that, a repair/replacement.
Throughout both of these conversations, every time I said the word refund he would try to talk me into accepting a replacement instead and I made it very clear that under no circumstances would I be accepting a replacement laptop. Weeks later it was ready to be collected. I called ASUS before heading down and was informed that Bing Lee's request was for a replacement with no mention of a refund/return. I called the ACCC who agreed with me that Bing Lee was giving me the ring-around, and when I told Bing Lee that I found out they had lied to me and that the ACCC was behind me, the manager began to yell at me over the phone and say that it didn't matter who I called because there was nothing I could do and I wouldn't be getting my money back from them.
I went to the store a few days later to collect it, the manager was again being very condescending. He told me that he only asked for a replacement because he knew ASUS would refuse a refund and this way if they give him a replacement he could give my money back and sell the replacement instead. This was clearly a lie, or he would have told me that when I originally rang him. Eventually I just took the laptop because I could see he wouldn't give me the refund. When I asked for my charger he first denied having it, then gave me the correct charger but with a cheap cable that doesn't even charge the laptop as quickly as the battery is drained during use.
I have also sent an official letter of complaint to the head office (both through email and physical post) and am yet to receive any response.
Needless to say, I will never be returning to that store again and I thoroughly encourage others to stay away from them too.
I bought today a fan in this Brand in Rockdale. After I went home I did realise that the fan was too noisy (I could not appreciate it in the store with the normal background noise) and the fact that the fan rotor shaft is not centered and moving around 1 millimeter when rotating, generating a lot of vibration (and additional noise) in the whole structure. I went back to the store the same day.
For the store the product is working "normal". I requested to return it and they say that they wouldn't. In fact, based in Bing Lee refund policy they will accept a return if they feel like it (http://www.binglee.com.au/returns-policy).
I normally don't buy in Bing Lee but. JB Hi-FI accept returns giving you credit store, and Harvey Norman, with similar prices and product ranges accept returns.
Personally I feel completely cheated and legally ripped off. This is the last time I buy in Bing Lee.
I placed 2 orders for the same item (a luggage scale) to two different addresses, at around the same time, but this was the first of the two.
Within a few days I received a shipment advice for the other, but not for this one. A week or so went by after the other order had been received, and I'd still heard nothing about this one, so called them up, and was told that the item was out of stock, and they could not give me a time frame for expected delivery.
The following day I received a shipment advice, and can't help wondering if my order had simply been overlooked, Nonetheless, the item has now been delivered, so I am happy.
I accept that mistakes can happen, though would have appreciated a little more honesty,if this is in fact the case,(or a note explaining that it was out of stock otherwise) and would happily deal with them again.
On the 13/03/2013 i ordered 5 'Sandisk 4GB microSDHC™ Memory Cards' from Bing Lee,they were advertised as class 4 but turned out to be class 6 and also included an SD card adaptor so a bit of a win there.
Shipping was free and took 2 weeks before arriving (27/03/2013) which is a little ordinary but still happy with my purchase.
I purchased some Itunes cards through Bing Lee's online store, and while the site seemed to struggle with added traffic during a sale, the transaction was otherwise simple and straightforward.
a small hiccup, but a good price, delivery time and customer service
I purchased a Kambrook Ice Cream Maker from Bing Lee as a present for a friend in preparation for the coming hot weather.
I received an email order confirmation and a shipment confirmation several hours later.
The item arrived 2 days after confirmation, which was nice and quick. It did, however, arrive by courier at 8pm, which i felt was a bit after hours. I also felt sorry for the delivery driver, working so late...
Sadly, the packaging was damaged in transit, making the item unsuitable to give as a gift. I took a few pictures of the damage and emailed it off to Bing Lee customer service and requested suggestions on what I could do.
Customer service replied the next business day, suggesting that they would arrange a swap for a new one at my nearest Bing Lee (the alternate option was to ship it back to them and then they would ship me a new one).
It was slightly inconvenient to have to do so, but it was definitely the quickest way to get it replaced, so I agreed.
Now the item has been successfully exchanged and is ready for gifting.
Overall, a little unhappy with the product being damaged in transit (perhaps they should have bubble wrapped the item to prevent damage) but happy with their customer service response time and helpfulness.
I would buy from them again.
Now to wait for my friend to unwrap it so we can test it out..!
My mother travels a lot, so when Bing Lee was offering Salter Luggage Scale, that gets very good online review, for a great price I figured it would be far easier for her to use rather than the bathroom scales.
Within a few days of placing the order I received notification that it had been shipped, and she received it a couple of days later.
