GraysOnline is an Australian online retail and auction company, offering a huge range of consumer, industrial and commercial goods, direct from manufacturers and distributors.
Grays are a clearing house and it shows with some of their quality (quite low) but occasionally you get something that is worth buying because it is hard to find.
Grouping purchases is a way around their fairly high delivery and shipping costs, as the shipping cost per item falls the more items you buy, so if you like a couple of things from a lot or brand its a good way to save on overall costs.
Bought a few posters that I wanted as presents from the site, they were as described and arrived reasonably quickly (within a week) but their postage times and prices are both greater than other retailers and this is their weakness. However, this time it was acceptable since I was in no rush and the discount was substantial.
On the 01/02/2013 i ordered a case of imported Stella Artois from GraysOnline and it arrived yesterday (08/02/2013) looking a little banged up with lots of sticky tape holding it all together, not sure if this is usual but the bottles were all loose with no cardboard packing splitting them up into 6 packs.
Grays Online is a well known store offering a range of items at good prices.
I have purchased wine through their auction site.
To get the best out of Grays (for wine at least) you need to know what you're looking for, or alternatively we willing to take a punt on an unknown product. Without a doubt there is some very cheap wine to be had, but sometimes you get what you pay for.
In this particular order I knew what I was after - a Pirramimma 2012 Riesling, which retails at over $20. This particular item was coming up on auction every day at Grays. It took several bids and several auctions but I finally walked away with a bargain price of $7 a bottle.
My order was processed later that day and it arrived within a few days.
Make sure you are aware of delivery fees and the 'buyers premium' which is usually around 15% of the final bidding price.
A good experience once you know what you're doing.
