What happened?
I used to order from Lucy in the Sky regularly, and loved that the shipments came so quickly!
I ordered a dress on the 5th of August, it didn't get process and shipped until yesterday (11th of August) and isn't estimated to reach me until the 19th. This is exceptionally slow service, especially given the 1-2 day turn around that I used to expect from Lucy in the Sky.
I won't be ordering from them again any time soon.
If you previously receives your item within 1-2 days, i'm assuming you live in Australia? The reason why you would have received it so quick is that they were located in NSW Australia a few months ago until one day the owners decided to pack up and relocate to the US without giving their employees any warning, and left them to figure that out themselves. Their employees are still owed thousands of dollars in wages and leave entitlements but of course they will not respond to anyones calls or emails. You would have most likely seen a message on their site recently which states that they "apologise in advance for any delay in delivery's as they are extremely busy with orders at the moment and they are working around the clock to keep up with the shit loads of orders they are receiving" (or something like that). No, you would be receiving less orders due to the increase in cost of delivery and you're just struggling because you don't have anyone working for you! So please stop using their services! :)
I recently bought a dress from here for a wedding (should of looked at reviews before I bought) I also didn't know they were based in Los Angeles silly me but I gave them a chance because I really loved the dress. I ordered it on 19th of January and thought oh I'll give it a couple of days because they do live overseas. I messaged the lady there and said my situation that I have a wedding on the 17th of February and that I was just wondering when my item would be dispatched. The lady told me my item would be dispatched the following Tuesday the 26th of January. I gave them a couple of days before I contacted again this was on the 29.01.16 wondering if my item had in fact got dispatched like she said it would. She replied it will be dispatched the following Friday. Now I am a little annoyed at the fact on whether to trust them and if it will in fact be here by the wedding date. So no I would not shop here again because of shipping but I do love there clothes and the people were easy to contact and DID actually reply.
It's sad for a business that could have such potential.
I placed three orders in the course of a few weeks because the fashion and the prices at this shop are great. However, the shipping is awful and the customer service is unreliable! I've been waiting almost a month for my first order to be completely shipped out and I'm not an international customer; I live in Chicago! As for the other orders, I've been waiting two weeks and counting, and 10 days and counting for any tracking details on 4 other missing items. I wanted to give this company the benefit of the doubt, but now I've got three orders that are taking forever just to get tracking details. I would be less annoyed if the site said that shipping was an unknown element, but it says that orders normally ship out within 3 days of payment! As much as I love the clothing, it's not worth the headache of constantly having to bug customer reps to ship out items they have already received payment for. I'm bummed, irritated, and likely to cancel my pending orders with unshipped items. Good thing I used Paypal =(
The shipping was amazingly fast and only took 3 days which was a much better experience than what I had before with this company... I ordered shorts which the quality did not live up to the price tag... However due to the hassle of returns for this store I decided to keep it instead. It's hard for a lot of things to know how quality is, and also the sizing was a bit off... Unlike a lot of other online stores they do not state the model's height and size of clothing that they wear so it is hard to make judgments.

Sizing is shocking!
Today the 1st of Oct I revcieved my order from Lucy in the Sky. The sizing is shocking! I regularly buy clothes online and know my sizing so when I ordered a size 8 I knew what I was expecting. When I opened up my parcel it looked beautiful until I put the dress on. It said size 8 but felt like a size 14. The low back was so low it showed my undies (I am average height 5'3).
I have made a total of 11 purchases at Lucy in the sky and have spent hundreds of dollars at their store. The pricing is AMAZING. I am an avid online shopper and find the same dress, always more expensive than Lucy. Quality is goood too. HOWEVER, I have had two orders never received. The first order, was $93. I never received it. I called the couriers please, they said nothing could be done. I called Lucy, they said it was a matter of the couriers. The courier driver said he placed it inside my mailbox, however I live in an apartment and only have a little slit wide enough for a letter, not a package with three dresses. I called the couriers two more times, both times they said they would get back to me and never did. So I lost almost $100 and received nothing.
The second time the same thing happened, the package was lost, I called couriers, he said it was delivered when it hadn't been, and then I called Lucy and she said they can't do anything. I called back a few days later and spoke to someone else, she gave me a full refund ($45) for the lost item which was helpful, just wish something was done about my first item.
Lucy was definitely my favourite online shop however I no longer can shop here due to it happening twice.
Before I received my dress, I couldnt stop telling people how great this site was because I thought the styles were fantastic. However, I have quickly changed my mind since receiving the package.
Negatives:
- Poor quality. For the price I paid for the dress ($60) I expected better quality material and more professional sewing skills. The material was too thin and gets creased/wrinkled. It sure didnt feel $60. The stitches were also poorly done.
- Clothes get sold out too quickly.
- No refund policy, only credit note available.
Positives:
- Ordered on Saturday morning and they delivered it on Monday (express shipping free for orders over $30). I wasn't at the address when they delivered so the courier called me and was willing to take it to my workplace the next day for no additional cost.
- The styles are nice but I just wished there was quality to match.
- There are sites (eg peppermayo) selling similar or even exactly the same clothing but lucy in the sky sells it cheaper. I don't know if it's because it is imitations or because it is poorer quality that's why.
They do offer free postage on returns of full priced items if you inform them within 7 days but I have yet to test out how promptly they reply to queries about returns
Overall, I don't think I will be purchasing online at this store again. I can find better quality at similar prices in store.
