You know what? No matter how good a store's stock is, I'm never going to be a regular customer if they don't allow me to return items for a full refund. Giving credit notes is in poor taste.
I ordered the Ocean Breeze top by Mink Pink. In that brand, I am a 12-14, although usually a 12, because MP runs small. Imagine my surprise when the 12 I ordered was too large!(I am definitely not a size 10, because-ahem-boobs)
So I returned the top (which cost $11 with tracking!) and was able to receive a full refund because the sizing was so off.
But it got me thinking: what if the top simply hadn't suited me? I would have been stuck with a credit note. I hate the idea of buying from online stores with rigid returns policies... Online, you look at a few pictures, and try and imagine what it might look like on you, then you click a button and bam. You're stuck with it without even setting eyes on it.
So although the customer service was good, I don't think I will be buying from Princess Polly again, not while there are places that allow you to return items if they don't suit you.
Minkpink doesn't run small it always runs larger actually. Im a size 10 and always order the small from their brand. So if you are a 12 normally you would 100% be a size 10 in their clothing. Don't buy online if you are expecting a full refund!
What a bizarrely aggressive comment! I have bought heaps of minkpink stuff. Maybe their sizing is changing, but for the last few years I and my friends have had to size up. It's cool that you have a different experience, but this has been mine. I buy online once a week to once a fortnight, and I no longer shop at princess Polly because there are so many fantastic stores which let me return goods for a refund if they don't fit, or even if they just don't suit. Not sure why I shouldn't 'buy online'. Money talks, and I spendibe at stores that care enough about their customers that they make online shopping an easy experience. If you can return the wrong thing you're sure to end up with the right thing. :)
I ordered a top from Princess Polly by Minkpink. I really liked the top so i thought that the £7 GBP (rather expensive) would be worth it. Everything was fine with the order until the courier (DHL) messaged me to say i have to pay £11 GBP for the item to be delivered due to duty and VAT. I advise that anyone considering ordering something from them outside of Australia considers the absolute ridiculous price of delivery. Princess also need to inform customers outside Australia of the extent of the extra cost as in all i ended up paying £18 for delivery (nearly as much as the top) which is not right.
terrible and rude service. would not order again. loss of money
terrible terrible service. i ordered from paris and my 173 euro order came with a 99 euro import duty! Being told this was due to the sender not clearly stating the value of the clothes, after which they had to estimate the value, which is always a high estimation, i of course declined the package for it to be returned to sender. i immediately informed them and they said they would not offer me a full refund. they would be taking off all the shipping costs back and forth (which are high) and they had to receive it back first. even though not agreeing i waited it out a bit and
it has now been more then a week and they are not responding to my email so far.
it is crazy i have to remind them of the fact that the package has not been in my position therefor the part where they need to receive it back before they can issue a refund does not apply here, considering the package is still under their responsibility. Only had i accepted the package first and then returned it to them it would have been my responsibility.
second..they made a human error not stating the value clearly and last but not least, not only they should have avoided confusion by CLEARLY stating on their site that duties will apply (which normally is only 15 to 20 euros on a package with this value. They should also make it known it is not their priority to take care of the technicality's of international shipments which include clearly stating the values of the clothes, for which reason the imports can and in most cases will be extremely high.
only when i researched them after this happened i saw they get this complaint around the clock so it might be time for them to change this on their website if they want to keep their bushiness open.
I went to the store on boxing day but it was so full so decided to visit their online store instead, no queues and more sizes! I bought a faith & lola dress and Breckelle's lace up boots. They were still having the christmas/boxing day sale, so both those things was only $55. Some of their things can be a bit pricey but this is because of the brands they stock.
They also offer free returns and shipping for orders over $50. I ordered it in the middle of the night, and the items arrived 2 business days later. For the prices that I paid, I was very happy with the quality of their products. They came in a cute princess polly bag and was individually wrapped in a pink paper wrapping with the princess polly logo on it.
After ordering a playsuit from Princess Polly around 7:45am on Wednesday it turned up at our doorstep around 11am Thursday which is absolutely amazing.
Princess Polly have decent prices and easy ordering and checkout which makes them an easy choice assuming they have what you want. And with this speedy delivery I could not recommend them more.
The item was packaged well, looks amazing and is great quality.
Shipping was also free and came with a tracking number.
I ordered this dress and lipstick, I got free shipping because I spent over a certain amount. I only ordered it yesterday and I already received it!! Fantastic!
I wrote a review about princess polly 2 weeks ago.
Worth saying they corrected the mistakes by refunding the whole amount and apologizing for the inconvenience.
Though i do think it is in everyones interest that they state clearly about possible overly high import duties, they did handle the situation very well and honest in the end.
If i would not be located in paris and would not have to deal with the high import duties, i would now in fact shop here again as they turned out to be handling all very correct.
