My brother wanted this item and since there isn't a local JB HI-FI where we live we ordered it online. Shipping was fast, service was good, they kept the item well packaged, have ordered many other items from these guys.
Bought a digital SLR camera (Canon 1100D) and a Lens. JB were really good, they specify what it is you're getting, and are good communicators. I sent their customer service people a query about the time frame as it was unclear at the time and they were really quick with their reply and explained it all. They use FedEx and the product arrived with manual and all instructions in perfect condition.
I bought a copy of Oh Mercy's Deep Heat album signed by the band's lead singer - which was great, and it's awesome that the site hosts unique content. However, shipping charges, even if 99c are a little steep coming from such a huge organisation. That said, the CD arrived promptly.
Note though that if you do buy any signed merchandise from these guys, the signed jacket often comes separately from the actual CD - I was pretty confused there for a bit! But it all arrived in the end.
I recently purchased all three seasons of Rescue Special Ops on DVD. I was very impressed with the prices. I purchased when there was a sale on TV DVDs, but even at full price, they were cheaper than other competitors. I also found the delivery charge to be reasonable at $2.95.
Site navigation was okay, although sometimes the category pages can feel a little overcrowded. The payment process was simple and straight forward. I received email confirmation almost immediately and a further email once my items had been dispatched.
My only issue was with the lack of information on the extended delivery period for my DVDs. I saw no mention that my items had been marked as "Special Order" until I received the email confirmation AFTER I had paid.
Because they were "Special Order" it meant they had to be ordered directly from the supplier and would result in a 1-2 week delivery time frame. This could have been an issue had I been ordering as a gift, but thankfully it was just for myself, so there was no rush. The items arrived within the 2-week time frame.
All in all, a great experience and I would happily buy from them again.
I recently purchased The Emporer's New Groove DVD, since it was missing from my collection; it's an older release, and one that is not always easy to track down. JB Hi-Fi had it in stock, and even better, it was part of their Kids DVD sale, so I said 'yes please!'
Everything was easy to navigate and operate on the website, and even the payment was simple to make. I have purchased through JB Hi-Fi before, without any issues, and had always paid with card previously. This time, I thought I would try the 'Pay with PayPal' option. Logging in with Paypal and making the payment was really quick and simple, but the rest was a bit of a nightmare.
The payment remained 'pending' on my Paypal account for 2 days, before finally being processed when the order was prepared and shipped. I think this was because JB Hi-Fi do not charge you until your item is ready, but it wasn't all that clear. I did not receive any immediate communication, so it did leave me wondering, especially when nothing was displaying on my Order History page.
I was supposed to receive an email confirmation but didn't, and nothing was showing up in my Order History. Thankfully, I had printed the Order Receipt when I first made the transaction, because had I not, I would have no access to my order ID number, and no way to check what was going on.
I emailed online orders, and had a response within a few hours to say that the order had been placed, was being dealt with, and that a confirmation email had been sent. I did request another, but they said they were unable to do that because of the way the system was setup, but they could see the order.
I have since come to the conclusion that my email address confused matters - my Paypal and JB Hi-Fi are setup under two different addresses - personal and family. I think my order was associated to my Paypal account, so everything went to my personal email. I think I couldn't track my order through my JB Hi-Fi account, because there was no order associated to that email, although I am speculating; there's no confirmation of that!
I find it strange that their system cannot deal with this. I would've rather received two confirmation emails to both email addresses, rather than been left wondering. I suggest being aware of a potential issue if JB Hi-Fi and Paypal accounts are registered to different emails.
Delivery was a great price - just 99c - which I found really reasonable, and considering that the item arrived in 3 days, it was definitely worth the cost!
I would buy from JB Hi-Fi again, but probably not using Paypal.
I ordered a tomtom GPS on jb hifi's website with 20% discount! they have various method of payment, I used paypal to pay for it.
because i have never purchased anything from them before, I have to create a new account, I have no problem with that this however has caused me to receive 6 EMAILS from them just for a GPS purchase
It's really good of them to notify every little step that they do and confirm it back to the customers, but I think customers should be able to choose whether they want to receive this information or not.
lastly the shipping was okay, not too late not that fast it took them 2-3 business days to reach my place

I love JB Hifi. I love the cheap items and the enormous variety all in one stores. I don't like the crowds and spending 20 mins looking for what I'm after only to finally see a staff member who tells me it's on the otherwise of the store. So with Christmas near I knew I couldn't mentally cope with a mad rush that is JB. I bought the batman trilogy online. It was cheap and over in a few minutes. It's did take 2 weeks to arrive but fortunately it was a Christmas present and I didn't leave it til the week before. It was still a better then the scavenger hunt and the waiting in line that was my less favourable option.
